Canoeing on Caddo Lake

Last Sunday, we spent the day canoeing at Caddo Lake State Park, which contains the nation's largest Cypress swamp. The scenery was unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it.

Parts of the water were covered in huge (2 ft. in diameter) lily pads.
Here we are paddling through the bayou before reaching my favorite part of the swamp.

The Cypress swamp looked like the canoeing scene in The Notebook.

We canoed for four hours. We were all completely exhausted (and disgusting) afterward, but as you can see from the pictures, it was well worth it.
